Original Delinquency Date

The original delinquency date is the date when an account first became delinquent, or past due. Delinquencies can stay on your credit report for seven years from the original delinquency date, even if you pay your bill in full the very next month.

Because collection accounts are treated as continuations of the original debt, a collection account will also be deleted from your credit report based on the original delinquency date.
